BROOKFORD, N.C. – the Town of Brookford Police Department has issued arrest warrants for a Brookford man in connection with the ongoing homicide investigation into the death of Claude Wayne Holsclaw, who was widely known in the community as “Doc.”
According to the Brookford Police Department, investigators have obtained warrants charging Joshua Ray Begley, 34, of Brookford, with the following offenses:
- Murder
- Concealment of Death
- Possession of a Firearm by a Felon During the Commission or Attempted Commission of a Felony
Authorities say Begley is currently wanted, and law enforcement agencies are actively working to locate him.
The investigation is being conducted by the Brookford Police Department in partnership with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), with assistance from additional law enforcement agencies.
Officials are asking for the public’s help in locating Begley. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is urged to contact the Brookford Police Department immediately at (828) 358-2025 or call 911. Investigators emphasize that members of the public should not attempt to approach or apprehend Begley, as he should be considered possibly armed and dangerous.
The Brookford Police Department stated that additional information will be released as it becomes available and when doing so will not compromise the ongoing investigation.
The investigation into the death of Claude Wayne Holsclaw remains active. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is encouraged to contact law enforcement as soon as possible.
