BROOKFORD, N.C. – The Brookford Police Department has announced that Joshua Ray Begley has been taken into custody in connection with the homicide investigation involving Claude Wayne Holsclaw (“Doc”).
Authorities say they are unable to release additional details at this time due to the ongoing investigation and prosecution. More information will be released as it becomes available.
Police credited the arrest to countless hours of investigation work and the outstanding cooperation of multiple law enforcement agencies. Chief Will Armstrong extended special thanks to the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office, and local, state, and federal agencies, first responders, and support personnel who assisted throughout the investigation.
The Brookford Police Department also thanked the community for its patience, support, and the many tips that helped move the investigation forward.
Officials ask everyone to continue keeping the Holsclaw family in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
All persons charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
